Local tip:
Go hiking on the slopes of Cayambe on the unknown eastern side to see the fauna and flora of Páramo on the unknown side of the giant of basalt and ice. Unique and favorable panoramas to observe perhaps a condor or a andean bear.
My Favorite:
The Hamadryade lodge in the Amazon. A particular atmosphere in the middle of the primary forest. Bonus: the road crosses the Andes and the cloud forest of the Eastern Sierra. It is already in itself an airlock, an ode to biodiversity and an invitation to travel with breathtaking landscapes.
A dish:
El hornado without a doubt! It is the national dish: a whole pig roasted in the oven for 8 hours. To be tasted at Iñaquitomarket with a good fresh fruit juice of season.
Wow!:
A diving trip in the Galapagos. More precisely a drift dive on Gordon Rocks above the hammerhead shark school. A moving and magical experience, emblematic of the underwater wealth of this treasure archipelago of the Galapagos.

From the Paris region and curious to discover the world, it is finally in Ecuador that Mélanie has decided to settle, after having traveled all over Europe and for two years in Latin America.
As a nature lover, Ecuador had everything to please her: great Andean landscapes, a welcoming local population and a very quick change of scenery. To go from the Amazon to the Pacific whales in a few hours is what fascinates her the most! It is without a doubt that she will make you discover with passion her new adopted country.
Local tip:
Go to Mindo for 3 days. A real ecological paradise located at about 1h30 from Quito. This small city is an ideal starting point for activities in the middle of nature, to go to bathe in its waterfalls, to fly over its forest of clouds and to observe its numerous birds which hide there!
My Favorite:
The Chimborazo Volcano, a giant of 6,263 m known for being the closest point to the sun. Even more impressive when the sun is clear. A little extra, the vineyard is very easily visible on the way when you go up in altitude.
A dish:
The traditional humitas. Based on corn and cheese, sweet or salty, here, we love to eat them accompanied by a coffee.
Wow!:
The most impressive thing about Ecuador is the biodiversity. It is fascinating to see how much the climate and vegetation can change in just a few kilometers of distance. You go from one ecosystem to another in a short time and you can see a clear difference between the 4 regions of the country: the Amazon, the Andes, the Coast and the indescribable archipelago of the Galapagos.

A Breton with a passion for nature and discovery, Florentine has been discovering Latin America for several years now. After 8 months in Chile, it was during a vacation that she fell under the spell of Ecuador and its many facets. She then decided to settle in Quito for a new adventure. A diver and hiker, she’ll be able to pass on her passion for the country and advise you on the destination she’s been discovering ever since her arrival.
Local tip:
Experience the summer solstice celebrations in June in an Andean community. An authentic experience that’s as close as possible to the local culture and beliefs. This is one of the most important celebrations of the year.
My Favorite:
Quilotoa is an impressive volcano whose 3 km-diameter crater is filled with water, forming a superb lagoon. Walking around the crater allows you to appreciate the different shades of blue of this water that has been blocked here for hundreds of years.
A dish:
Tigrillo” is a rich breakfast dish made with bananas and eggs. Ideal for building up strength before surveying one of the volcanoes in the Andean region.
Wow!:
The country’s 4 worlds: the Amazon, the Andes, the Coast and the Galapagos archipelago, which give the country its singular identity. Ecuador is unique in its diversity of landscapes, landforms and people.

She is our administrative manager, in charge of everything that makes our providers happy, and above all, she is in charge of payments on time and in due form. In short, she puts oil in the wheels and orders our little papers.
Local tip:
Take a walk in the historic center of Quito and appreciate its colonial architecture with its churches, convents, colonial houses, squares, and the tradition of this beautiful mixed city.
My Favorite:
The imposing Avenue of Volcanoes, trekking there to reach its peaks fascinates me. For me, the mountains are the perfect environment to feel free. The Volcán del Altar is my favorite.
A dish:
One of my favorite dishes is the succulent encebollado, from the La Costa region elaborated with fish (albacora), onions and yuca.
Wow!:
Its colors and shapes are appreciated in its great biodiversity, mountains and seas. And the tradition of each ethnic group, all different from each other.

As a student in tourism in Angers, Tessa decided to come and discover Ecuador and work in the Terra family during a semester internship.
After spending 6 months in Canada and always looking for adventures, Ecuador seemed like the perfect place to discover the diversity of Latin America: the volcanoes of the Andes, the Amazon rainforest, the Pacific coast and its whales, Mindo and its hummingbirds, and the endemic species of the Galapagos. It is with passion that she will make you discover her new country of adoption!
Local tip :
Spend the time of a day with a family in a community to learn more about Ecuadorian culture and share a unique moment around a good meal.
My Favorite:
Go for an early morning hike and discover the Cuicocha lagoon, located south of Cotacachi volcano, a dormant volcano. This 12km hike allows you to discover exceptional flora and rich and varied landscapes.
A dish:
Cayambe bizcochos have become my favorite cookies. This simple but delicious little cake is a delight in the morning as well as in the evening, especially with a good cup of coffee.
Wow!:
The diversity of Ecuador’s landscape is incredible! It is possible to travel through different worlds in a few hundred kilometers and to discover numerous and varied fauna and flora. Her passion for wild animals was fulfilled by hummingbirds, monkeys, frogs and llamas!
